Book Review: The Diary of a Young Girl - Anne Frank, edited by Otto H Frank and Mirjam Pressler

Based on a Diary from June 1942 to August 1944 by a young girl Anne Frank and latter willed to the Netherlands State Institute for War Documentation.
Another very heart breaking story, like The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. The end broke me so much, so unfair that after hiding for over two years, these families were caught one day and marched to different concentration camps where all of them died except for Anne’s dad who later died in the 80s.

The disruption of lives, the loss of dignity where Anne had to share a room with the Dentist and fight over the writing desk. It was a bit heart warming that something positive bloomed, when Anne and Pete fell in love but they did not pursue their dreams in the free world as they were soon captured. A pretty heavy read but one I do recommend.
